A new app looking at mood etc based out of Scotland is taking shape.

I’m on the train to Edinburgh to get a flight to Luton.
November 2011 and March 2014, same journey, similar reasons.
Last time was a trip that I got as a thank you in a way for the work I’d done testing what was the upcoming Groceries app for Android. I got a week in dotcom R&D* team, saw some cool things, redesigned a kiosk browser, went to a store to view demo tech, and generally got to know some cool projects.
This time, I’m heading to Tesco dotcom head office for a 24 hackathon, or Globe’athon as we’re calling it. Over 200 colleagues across the world will be in teams building demo apps and ideas, the newish innovation team / Labs are hosting it, and this time I’m working with at least 2 others on a neat idea we have for suggestions while in store.
It’s getting involved with new people, seeing some friends, and seeing what opportunities this allows me. I’m thankful to be the only person from Dundee going, I’m joining about 10 others who are coming from stores or Cardiff, to join the fun.
I have no idea what will happen when I get back home but I know I’ve been given the opportunity to “network” with people who are like minded. Who knows if a job will come out of it, but it’s been something I’ve wanted to get my teeth into for a while now. Time to move onto the next challenge so to speak.
I’ll be updating twitter more than tumblr, so follow me there for more.

Don’t get married ‘til you’re 30. Play laser tag at least once a week. Give as many high-fives as you’re gonna get. Teacup pigs are lady magnets but very hard to care for - not worth the effort. The same goes for dogs and babies. And most importantly, whatever you do in this life, it’s not legendary unless your friends are there to see it.
